Very nicely done, I’d have to say this is my Favorite pieces of music…ALL TIME (47 yrs) “A Wedding Classic” It is both Inspiring and Uplifting. If you can’t loose just a little of Lifes stresses to this one then nothing will do it! Just a note; Pic. @ :43 sec. mark is of the South Falls @ Silver Creek Falls St. Pk. just outside Silverton, Oregon

omg.i heard this when i was 6 and i just heard it last month.i searched for it nonstop and i finally found it. im so happy. its such a sad romantic happy song. its passion of how deeply moving the melody’s are and the love someone shares. i am deferentially having this on my wedding.

It sounds like the version from a 1993 cd called “Classics for Relaxation”. If it is then it was the Jean-Francois Paillard Chamber Orchestra. It is the most beautiful version, imho.

I guess my heart has spoken as to what my final choice should be for the best version of this classical classic.
I’ve listened to so many – and watched all the beautiful videos that came with them – but this version is the one I like best after all.

I received several messages on my post. Thanks for correcting me in private. Actually, I did know JP was protestant, but I just hastily texted in my own religious tradition. Apologies. My response to this video still stands and my belief in JPs talent as well. Thanks again.

I believe you are right all around: best version, relaxing (Critics often say he lacks the virtuosity of some of his contemporaries, and I’ve always felt it was because he was trying to connect the common worshiper who might be technically unappreciative with his Creator at Mass). Beautiful job on matching eye material with soul material. Thanks so much.

I don’t like the epithet “relaxing” often attributed to great classical movements. What is more important is beauty and intelectual depth, relaxation comes after.
